Job Detail: The role holder will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Residential Children’s workers, taking full responsibility for managing the establishment and the welfare of the children and young people in the absence of more senior staff. Maintaining high standards of individual interventions in terms of the treatment programme and adherence to the philosophy and approach used to engage with the children in care.  

Actively promoting children\'s rights and working in a manner which ensures the safeguarding of children whilst working within the context of Children’s Act 1989 and Children’s Act 2004, Every Child Matters Agenda, National Minimum Standards, the Children’s Home Regulations and all other relevant legislation.

Qualifications & Experience

CQSW / Dip SW / NVQ 3 Care or Similar

·         Experience working at a level of responsibility with children and young people in  a residential setting

·         Extensive residential child care experience

·         Line management experience at a senior level

·         Proven ability to deal with complex interrelated information and practices

·         Proven ability to relate well with children ensuring positive outcomes

·         Availability to participate in the on call duties rota

·         Ability to work in a confidential manner within and external to the workplace
